I think we need to bring some public preassure to bear and that is why I am glad that some leaders of the community are proceeding with plans for a march on Washington DC this coming fall.

I believe it is more important to press for our rights than it is to be concerned with putting the adminisrtation on the spot. Obama should be put on the spot to keep his promises. We got badly burned under the last Democratic president with DADT and DOMA because we were too timid about putting a so called friend of the community on the spot. "The gay stuff" is too important to take a back seat and our demands should not be subordinate his timetable.

Just as our brothers and sisters at Stonewall 40 years ago ignored those who counseled "patience" we should ignore those who want us to hold back in 2009.

I sent the call from Cleve Jones for the October March to President Obama with an invitation to join us. I wonder how long, if at all, I will get a response.
